My Mission

“My mission is to provide patients with a treatment environment where they feel comfortable and at home. I believe it is vital to work collaboratively with my patients, so I want them to be honest with me about their dental treatment goals and know that I am here to help them achieve those goals without judgment. I am dedicated to helping my patients maintain the smile they have always dreamed of having through oral health education, proper preventative care, and routine treatment. I truly believe that changing a person’s smile can change a person’s life. Every smile has a history, and with the right treatment and maintenance, every smile can have a future!”

Dr. Giacomini is from Springfield, Illinois. She moved to southern Illinois for school and has been there ever since! Dr. Giacomini loves her family and friends and enjoys spending as much time with them as possible. In her spare time, Dr. Giacomini enjoys running, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her boyfriend, who is also a dentist! Dr. Giacomini’s best friend is her dog, Dolly, a 4 ½-year-old pit bull-terrier mix rescue who loves playing frisbee outside!

A nature enthusiast, Dr. Mertz loves hiking, camping, and taking long walks with her husband and her dog, Chief. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family and meeting new people, because “everyone has a story to tell.”
